| | Since the last time I wrote, I've been basically living in the Gospels, and Romans. I read a portion of L'Evangile selon Jean ( John's gospel) everyday. My Pastor plans to teach through this gospel verse by verse, in the fall. I'm very much looking forward to this. I've been recently using the Segond(NEG). I enjoy this french translation. The different french versions are beginning to pile up in my apartment. If someone out there in Xanga land is desperate for copy, feel free to message me. I've also been listening to and reading a lot of Shakespeare. I've become somewhat of a fanatic. I can clearly see why he's considered the greatest writer in all of English literature! His writing is breath-taking in it's beauty!! He is certainly without peer, in my judgement. I also must acknowledge, however, that many of his plays can be very violent. I was actually surprised by how much violence there was. I have been listening to unabridged audio recordings( or performances), and following along with the printed text. It is very, very, enjoyable to go through a Shakespeare play in this manner! So far I've gone through the complete text of Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Henry V, Henry VI, Richard III, and a number of his sonnets. I've been considering playing tournament chess, again. The U.S. Chess Federation wants me to renew my membership. They sent me a mailing, offering to let me join at a discounted rate. I've been really enjoying my classical music collection!! Classical music, and Shakespeare make for a nice combination. Salut, Mes Amis. Le Seigneur est Grand et Glorieux!! IL est mon Berger!! Soli Deo gloria. Sola Scriptura. |
